- BS in accounting or finance from an accredited university
- 3 to 5 years of experience preferably using an ERP system in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex information
- Experience with a deadline driven public company
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
- Ability to interface with people at all levels of the organization
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of SAP preferred
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

The accountant will analyze operational manufacturing metrics, along with internal audit/compliance metrics. This position works closely with operations and senior management to understand and analyze cost metrics, profit margins, production, compliance, and inventory accuracy.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Compiling monthly project cost reports and help analyze / explain financial results to program management
- Plans and collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
- Analyzes data obtained and records results.
- Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
- Analyzes audits of costs and prepares reports.
- Compiles cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.
- Provides management with timely reports.
- Develops accounting reports and maximizes use of SAP reports.
- Assisting with yearly physical inventory
- Enter monthly journal entries / assist with monthly closing process / monthly reporting.
- Perform Internal Audit and Compliance preparation as needed.
- Other duties not listed above assigned by the manager or controller.
- Perform the monthly closing activities.
- Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to operations management
- Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers.
- Participate in profitability analysis regarding quoting and costing.
