• BS in accounting or finance from an accredited university
• 3 to 5 years of experience preferably using an ERP system in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex information
• Experience with a deadline driven public company
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
• Ability to interface with people at all levels of the organization
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Working knowledge of SAP preferred
• Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

The accountant will analyze operational manufacturing metrics, along with internal audit/compliance metrics. This position works closely with operations and senior management to understand and analyze cost metrics, profit margins, production, compliance, and inventory accuracy.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Compiling monthly project cost reports and help analyze / explain financial results to program management
• Plans and collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
• Analyzes data obtained and records results.
• Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
• Analyzes audits of costs and prepares reports.
• Compiles cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.
• Provides management with timely reports.
• Develops accounting reports and maximizes use of SAP reports.
• Assisting with yearly physical inventory
• Enter monthly journal entries / assist with monthly closing process / monthly reporting.
• Perform Internal Audit and Compliance preparation as needed.
• Other duties not listed above assigned by the manager or controller.
• Perform the monthly closing activities.
• Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to operations management
• Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers.
• Participate in profitability analysis regarding quoting and costing.
