FCM is a full-service, FNMA, HUD and VA approved national mortgage lending firm headquartered in Houston, Texas for over 20 years with locations in several states. We specialize in partnering with home builders as well as retail production.
FCM is currently seeking highly motivated, qualified individuals to fulfill the role of Senior Mortgage Accountant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties:
- Process advanced accounting entries related to secondary marketing, mortgage servicing rights, corporate allocations, and equity method consolidation using AMB-Accounting & Mortgage Builder software tools.
- Perform advanced loan level balance sheet reconciliations for investor purchases and borrower escrow accounts
- Prepare monthly financial statements and financial statement analysis for Company management.
- Conduct preliminary reviews of affiliated joint venture financials for errors and unusual variances.
- Update key metrics related to mortgage production and company financial performance.
- Perform reporting related to day-to-day operations including cash position, warehouse line of credit utilization, projected monthly fundings, and credit availability.
- Compile reporting for investor and bank relationship renewals and certification to regulatory agencies.
- Assist CFO with preparation of audit responses and tax return schedules.
- Assist CFO with preparation of annual budgets for affiliated partnerships.
- Assist in training of new accounting staff and provide support to staff accountants.
- Create and maintain documentation for accounting internal controls and walkthroughs.
- Assist in the month-end close process by handling day-to-day accounting matters for one or more mortgage banking partnership entities.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Master's Degree in Accounting required.
- 1 Year of experience in loan-level mortgage accounting using AMB-Accounting and Mortgage Builder software tools required.
