We are seeking a talented and dedicated Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a critical component of our financial operations, leveraging your expertise in budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, and fixed assets. You will be responsible for providing accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information. This position requires a high level of competence with Sage software and advanced MS Excel skills.
Responsibilities:
As our Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing, examining, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
2. Conducting inventory accounting and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
3. Handling budgeting and forecasting tasks, providing critical input to the company's financial planning processes.
4. Managing fixed assets, including recording acquisition and disposals, calculating depreciation, and reconciling the fixed asset ledger.
5. Filing sales and use tax returns in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
6. Utilizing Sage software for various accounting tasks and advanced MS Excel for data analysis and financial modelling.
7. Collaborating with various departments to support overall department goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
3. Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting, and fixed asset management.
4. Proficiency in Sage software or other ERP system and advanced skills in MS Excel.
5. Solid understanding of sales and use tax filing.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to work independently, manage large, complex projects, and meet deadlines.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
