Salary Range: $68,000 to $75,000
Summary:
EntreNous Youth Empowerment Services (EntreNous) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant who will have primary responsibility for preparing and maintaining ENYES’s general ledger and other accounting records. Reporting to the CFO, the Accountant will also be responsible for preparing the organization’s monthly financial statements and coordinating the annual audit and 990 filing.
The successful candidate has a problem-solving mindset, high integrity, and the ability to undertake multiple tasks simultaneously. This individual will also be expected to work independently and must possess the ability to prioritize various high-level responsibilities. EntreNous is growing quickly and in exciting directions, and the Accountant will have a major opportunity to bring the organization to a higher level of efficiency and excellence. Responsibilities/Essential Duties:
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy of financial records. Analyze and reconcile G/L accounts on a regular basis
- Make journal entries and maintain the chart of accounts in consultation with the CFO
- Account for departmental revenue, expense items, and all other financial transactions
- Ensure accuracy of statements in accordance with GAAP
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Prepare invoices for reimbursement grants/funders on a monthly basis in collaboration with the CFO and Fiscal Clerk
- Prepare and maintain monthly financial reports for management and, as needed, for the Board of Directors
- Contribute to the development and ongoing review of annual operating budgets and financial projections
- Monitor and provide reports on cash flow and cash balances; perform all bank reconciliations
- Coordinate the annual audit process and the annual completion of the Form 990
Qualifications/Hiring Criteria:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in accounting. CPA preferred
- Experience in a nonprofit organization and an understanding of cost allocation in a nonprofit with multiple funding sources
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
- Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency
