Job Overview:
Ledgent Finance and Accounting is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team in Tampa, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong accounting skills to contribute to the accuracy of financial reporting, assist with month-end and year-end close processes, and play a key role in financial analysis. As a Senior Accountant, you will have the chance to work in a collaborative environment, take ownership of accounting functions, and help drive the financial success of the company.
$75,000-$85,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Ensure accurate recording of transactions in the general ledger, including accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, providing detailed explanations for fluctuations.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with department heads.
- Oversee tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate timely audits and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed schedules for fixed assets, including depreciation and amortization calculations.
- Support senior management with financial analysis, cost analysis, and other ad hoc reporting as needed.
- Mentor and train junior accountants, ensuring accurate and efficient accounting processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline accounting functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
