Accountant - Advent Talent Group

Advent Talent Group is seeking an Accountant for a dynamic specialty construction company in Brooklyn Park, MN. This role demands an accounting professional passionate about the construction industry who will collaborate closely with the Controller to maintain financial compliance with government regulations and company policies. Overview
Salary: $70,000 - $85,000
Location: On-site in Brooklyn Park, MN
Position Type: Direct Hire
Hours: Full-time | Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports
  • Generate detailed project metric reports
  • Assist in preparing quarterly tax returns
  • Support month-end financial closing activities?
• Job Costing and Financial Management
  • Process and analyze job costs, including overhead and equipment costing
  • Conduct thorough costs-to-complete analysis
  • Identify and rectify discrepancies in job cost reviews
  • Detect and resolve data inconsistencies
• ?Accounting Processes
  • Support Controller in maintaining and managing general ledger
  • Process and review weekly payroll
  • Manage monthly union fringe benefit payments
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable processes
  • Ensure accurate payroll calculations and compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
• 1+ years of accounting experience, with a strong background in the construction industry or union payroll
• Proficiency in accounting software, with experience in Sage 100 a plus
• Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and excellent numerical aptitude
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently under deadlines
• Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and build solid relationships
