Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage general ledger activities and ensure efficient accounting operations. Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent will oversee financial analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations, and support SOX compliance. This role is pivotal in facilitating our client's transition to publicly traded accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
Assist in corporate reporting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Conduct financial analysis on company revenues and expenses.
Execute reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
Support SOX planning and testing processes.
Collaborate in the development of annual profit plans, forecasts, and process enhancements.
May handle specialized tasks like fixed assets or state and local tax.
Potential supervision of staff accountants.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Experience:
3-5 years of accounting experience in a publicly traded company or public accounting.
CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in Excel for accounting purposes (pivot tables, v-lookups).
Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
Ability to analyze financial statements and expense reports.
Experience with process improvements.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Familiarity with JDE is advantageous but not mandatory.
