About the Job
A large professional services company located in Marlborough, MA has an opening in their accounting department for an Account Receivable Specialist. Under the supervision of the Accounts Receivable Manager, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage various tasks within the department, including cash application, billing, credits & adjustments, and unapplied cash. Collaborating closely with collectors, the Account Receivable Specialist will ensure timely application of receipts, resolution of customer inquiries, and management of unapplied cash.
Key Responsibilities:- Accurately posts payments and reconciles receipts within specified time frames for both commercial and residential customers.
- Processes and reconciles customer receipts, credit card transactions, and other accounts receivable transactions daily.
- Applies bank deposits, ACH wires, and credit card batches promptly.
- Verifies payments against outstanding balances, investigates and resolves discrepancies, and makes necessary adjustments.
- Conducts research on unapplied cash, including reaching out to customers for resolution.
- Ensures timely follow-up on credit card disputes.
- Inputs approved credits and adjustments for customer invoices/accounts.
- Manages customer refunds from research to resolution, acting as the point of contact.
- Addresses customer inquiries received through Jira ticketing, including making return phone calls to communicate resolution outcomes.
- Generates weekly billing invoices/statements based on customer requirements.
- Manages other billing tasks, such as providing invoices/statements to customers, uploading invoices into customer portals, and resolving invoice discrepancies in collaboration with branches or PCS.
- Assists in maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer records, making necessary changes as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by management.
