Who Were Looking For
An AP Specialist who performs essential job functions to ensure vendors get paid in a timely manner for services and products rendered. They also review and process invoices, audit credit card bills, address vendor and supplier inquiries, reconcile vendor statements, process and maintain tax statements, and process and distribute checks. They must be organized, have excellent time management skills, and be able to effectively multitask. An accounts payable specialist may be responsible for company financial information, records, and financial documentation. They also maintain accuracy in all payments, track expenses, and process expense reports. This role requires technical knowledge of ledger and accounting procedures, as well as good communication skills. A typical days work might include reviewing vendor invoices for accuracy, verifying tax ID numbers, calculating freight charges, discounts, and taxes due, as well as identifying and correcting payment errors.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities in this role may include:
Process a high-volume of vendor invoices.
Verify that proper documentation is included with invoice submissions.
Review and reconcile vendor statements.
Respond to all vendor inquiries timely and reconcile all vendor statements.
Review, reconcile, and process vendor credits.
Review and process employee expense reimbursements as per payment schedule
Manage vendor accounts and relationships.
Maintain reports, spreadsheets files, and records related to AP.
Support and assist other areas of the accounting department as needed.
Assist internal business partners with any customer service needs.
Assist with month end closing, by calculating accruals, preparing journal entries, and performing miscellaneous A/P reconciliations as requested Knowledge/Skills.
Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
Perform special projects as assigned.

Qualifications for this role:
Education:
Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred but not required.
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year experience in an Accounts Payable role.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Background in non-profit accounting environment preferred.
Experience with MIP Accounting software is a Plus.
