Account Manager – Long-Term Care Pharmacy Services (Pittsburgh Region)
We are seeking a full-time, experienced Account Manager to oversee the Pittsburgh region and act as the primary liaison between pharmacy operations and long-term care (LTC) facilities. This role ensures smooth daily operations, problem resolution, and client satisfaction through direct engagement with assigned facilities.
Position Overview
As the face of the pharmacy, the Account Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations between the pharmacy and its assigned LTC facilities. The ideal candidate will prioritize retention by addressing client needs efficiently, fostering long-term partnerships, and delivering continuous guidance on pharmacy processes.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management: Address facility needs, concerns, and problems promptly to maintain strong partnerships.
Territory Management: Schedule and conduct regular visits to assigned facilities, ensuring consistent support.
Training & Support: Provide ongoing training and guidance to facility staff on pharmacy processes. Offer technical support for pharmacy-provided systems, including automatic medication dispensing cabinets.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal pharmacy teams to streamline daily workflows and implement new programs or processes at facilities.
Onboarding Coordination: Facilitate the onboarding process for new facilities, including gathering key information, coordinating training sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition.
Inventory Oversight: Manage pharmacy-provided emergency boxes (E-Boxes), ensuring accurate inventory counts and monitoring expiration dates.
Record Keeping: Maintain and update the pharmacy’s internal records related to facility staff and operations.
Operational Support: Assist with daily pharmacy operations when needed.
Travel: Be available for occasional overnight stays during onboarding and training processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Leadership: Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.
Customer Focus: Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset.
Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to train and engage with diverse audiences.
Independence: Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Presentation: Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
Technical Proficiency: Capable of managing technical aspects related to pharmacy processes.
Experience Preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant work experience will be considered.
Background in pharmacy operations, healthcare, or long-term care.
Proven experience in territory and account management.
Strong track record in customer training, support, and issue resolution.
