About the Position
Rockwood account managers drive results for our clients by providing program planning and portfolio oversight to achieve the highest results from our teams. They are responsible for ensuring client satisfaction, driving business growth, and delivering high-quality consulting services to clients.
From client satisfaction in caring for the client and their program goals to participating in business development to expand business, account managers are key contributors to Rockwood's business growth goals.
Duties:
- Oversee portfolio of projects: Manage a portfolio of consulting projects supporting project leads from initiation to closure, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, risk management, and communication
- Lead and develop project managers and staff across the account; serve as a mentor and coach for performance and professional development. Create a collaborative, team-oriented culture across the account team.
- Identify new business opportunities: Identify new business opportunities by monitoring industry trends, analyzing client needs, and proposing new services or solutions that meet those needs
- Develop account plans: Create account plans that outline goals, objectives, and strategies for each client account to achieve business growth
- Manage portfolio financials: Manage the financial aspects of client accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss, invoicing, and revenue recognition
- Measure portfolio success through reporting and analytics: Prepare reports and analytics to measure performance, identify trends, and provide insights that can help Rockwood leadership and clients make informed decisions
- Serve as a subject matter expert: Understand clients' needs, goals, and challenges to provide tailored solutions based on expertise, experience, and network to achieve mission objectives and maximize return on investmen
- Build and maintain client relationships: Responsible for building strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs, providing high-quality service, and ensuring client satisfaction
- Develop consulting expertise across the account: Leverage and develop staff consulting expertise to advise clients on best practices, industry trends, and solutions that can help achieve mission goals
- Collaborate with internal teams: such as growth, contracts management, finance/accounting, HR, and recruiting to ensure the smooth delivery of services to clients
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of (15) years of experience in federal consulting or 8+ years of direct experience in leading federal consulting portfolio management programs or initiatives within the federal government
- Demonstrated experience and success leading large, diverse teams, developing leaders and setting the tone and culture for a strong team dynamic
- Understand federal contracting, ethics, and procurement practices
- Demonstrated past performance and strong references leading complex client engagements
- Ability to identify complex consulting challenges and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Proven track record in sales and business development including generating new business leads, building relationships with clients, and closing deals - either organic or new business - that result in increased revenue and business growth
- Experience performing business management and analytical functions to support the development, sustainment, and implementation of program and business functions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be working closely with clients, stakeholders, and team members
- Demonstrated experience working with clients to develop action plans that translate vision, mission, and goals into initiatives that can be executed as projects or programs
- Ability to identify the costs, milestones, assumptions, dependencies, and risks of programs
- Expert knowledge and use of the MS Office suite (Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Project; Visio) to prepare documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Experience supporting the DoD
- PMP certification
