APTIM's Energy Transition is seeking an experienced Account Manager. This position is based in New Orleans and serves as critical leadership providing guidance and oversight on behalf of the commercial program and pipeline to projects and energy savings. APTIM's role as the Third-Party Administrator is to develop and manage energy-saving programs vital to business and residential Entergy New Orleans customers. The Account Manager will be responsible for providing management-level administration services including networking with customers to drive program performance and goal attainment. Commercial business knowledge and technical expertise in energy efficiency is required. This role will report to the Commercial Program Senior Manager.
Energy Smart is an incentive program available to all Entergy New Orleans electric customers. The program provides cash incentives to customers for making improvements to residential and commercial buildings that will reduce electricity usage. Our role as the Program Administrator is to develop energy-savings programs that are vital in the marketplace for residential and business customers. You will also be working with others who are passionate about energy efficiency and making a positive impact on the industry.

Our consultants proactively collaborate with clients to define and implement strategies and campaigns around key business drivers, with the primary focus of finding and delivering high-impact projects exceeding expectations and meeting the unique needs for our clients.
The Account Manager is responsible for building a network of customers and energy efficiency projects with commercial, industrial, hospitality and other business types in Orleans Parish. The Account Manager will engage and coordinate with these business organizations to identify opportunities to drive efficiency projects on behalf of the Energy Smart Program. The Account Manager will be expected to engage with organizations proactively to understand their unique goals and challenges and communicate how the Program can support those goals and challenges. This position will be a critical member of the team by informing overarching strategic direction and driving new initiatives and electric savings. The Account Manager will also lead, coordinate, organize and motivate a small team of outreach personnel to effectively and efficiently build and maintain a pipeline of projects that will meet or exceed annual program goals.
This position is based in New Orleans and will have frequent day travel within the Orleans parish and there is the opportunity for travel outside of the area, sporadically, for conferences, events, and continuing education. The Account Manager will communicate across functional teams to exchange ideas, embrace a collaborative approach, take ownership of their workspace, and find solutions to challenges as they arise. Candidates must be able to manage multiple tasks, be well-versed in Energy Smart Commercial program requirements and have an awareness of other programs within their geographic area. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to maintain positive relationships with the client, colleagues, implementation partners, and wide variety of market stakeholders. This role requires a person who is accountable, process driven, and detail oriented. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
+ Lead the outreach team, applying best practices and processes to ensure thorough, coordinated, persistent pursuit of project leads. As the team lead, help remove barriers and resolve challenges as needed. Report out weekly to program management on status of pipeline relative go goals. Update action plain daily and ensure timely follow through across the team to maintain progress to goal.
+ Research organizations that could benefit from participating in the Energy Smart program and build a pipeline of targeted businesses to lead outreach with.
+ Identify opportunities to leverage existing or potential organizations to produce qualified leads, layer services/rebates and/or improve the customer experience, driving project participation.
+ Connect regularly with organizations via phone, email, virtual platforms, and face-to-face discussions to ensure they are current Energy Smart offerings and efforts, and to gain the organizations perspective on issues relating to the programs.
+ Lead and project manage initiatives that drive toward improved customer experience and participation in programs.
+ Develop and lead presentations promoting Energy Smart programs at various conferences, community events, or professional organizations.
+ Respond to direct inquiries and requests made by customers, organizations, and stakeholders in a timely manner.
+ Deliver supporting information, collateral, and contacts to partners to support deepened customer engagement.
+ Be attuned to broad regulator, policy, and economic concerns impacting programs and bring these perspectives to program leadership.
+ Perform field QAQC as needed within assigned territory.
+ Frequent day travel and occasional overnight (depending on conferences, training or other opportunities).
+ All other duties as assigned.
+ Ensuring compliance with all APTIM quality and safety policies as well as all OSHA regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent work experience.
+ 5+ years of industry experience required.
+ Knowledge of energy efficiency and demand response programs.
+ Experience in working with any of the following stakeholders: businesses, contractors, utilities, CBOs, community leaders, retailers, program implementers, manufacturers or distributors of energy-efficient equipment or services.
+ Strong service orientation with the ability to work across multiple departments and units within an organization, external clients, and multiple stakeholders.
+ Detail-oriented with excellent time management, project management, and follow-through; creative problem solver with strong analytical abilities.
+ Ability to absorb information from multiple parties and formulate necessary communications or decisions quickly.
+ Conceptual understanding of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and the types of equipment, technologies, and building practices relevant to commercial customers.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Experience in the use of typical productivity software tools.
+ Strong quantitative and analytic capabilities to interpret data and solve practical problems.
+ Exceptional relationship management skills.
+ Ability to travel within Orleans parish regularly and occasionally out-of-state.
+ Must be a self-starter, organized and have an ability to manage competing priorities with established deadlines.
