About the Job
Our client, a well-established manufacturer of traditional, food-based dog treats and chews, is seeking an experienced Account Manager to expand their presence in the USA and Canada. With 17 years of experience producing high-quality products, they aim to grow their market share through strategic relationships, distribution channels, and education about their philosophy and product lines.
This role focuses on business development within the Neighborhood Pet Channel and other similar markets, while fostering strong relationships with distributor reps, retail sales teams, and customers. Responsibilities
- Develop new business and grow sales within existing networks, including the Neighborhood Pet Channel.
- Build and manage strategic relationships and distribution channels across the USA and Canada.
- Introduce and promote original and new product offerings to distributors and retailers.
- Educate distributor representatives, retail sales staff, and other stakeholders on product lines, quality, and company philosophy.
- Confirm customer satisfaction and address needs to strengthen relationships.
- Manage distributor tools and resources to enhance influence, reputation, and market share.
- Present effectively to diverse audiences, ensuring buy-in and enthusiasm for the brand.
- Travel up to 50% of the time to support growth initiatives.
Desired Qualifications
- At least four years of experience in the specialty or high-end pet food market.
- Proven experience in independent sales to specialty markets.
- Self-directed and motivated, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Budgetary experience and the ability to manage resources effectively.
- Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to educate and inspire others.
- A passion for natural pet products and the philosophy behind them.
Work Structure
