The Account Executive/Senior Account Executive will have a proven track record of generating earned media and executing against a strategic communications plan. The Account Executive/Senior Account Executive has a client-facing role in our agency and they will show an ability to present ideas in a professional manner.
Half Street has an office on South Main Street in Downtown Providence steps from Plant City and the Michael Van Leesten Memorial Pedestrian Bridge and offers employees hybrid work options.

Experience and Education Requirements
Four to seven-plus years of experience in public relations, communications, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience working with or in the nonprofit, governmental, or political sectors preferred.
Agency experience is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Media Relations and Storytelling
- The Account Executive will research, write, and prepare media materials, including press releases, media kits, and talking points. They will provide clients with prep and support prior to, during, and after interviews. They will craft and pitch compelling stories to reporters, editors, and news desks to secure earned media coverage while monitoring media trends to identify opportunities for client storytelling and real-time engagement. They will develop compelling earned and owned media campaigns.
- Content Creation and Strategy
- This role involves developing engaging content tailored to diverse audiences and platforms, including op-eds, social media posts, email campaigns, and blog articles. The Account Executive will also manage and maintain client social media calendars, ensuring alignment with broader campaign goals.
- Client Engagement and Project Management
- The Account Executive will serve as a primary point of contact for clients, preparing for and leading client meetings with professionalism and strategic insights. They will collaborate with the Account Director to manage projects and campaigns, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Event Planning and Community Engagement
- Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and staffing events such as press conferences, community outreach initiatives, and panel discussions. The role also involves organizing and executing community engagement activities to build client relationships and visibility.
- Metrics and Reporting
- The Account Executive will analyze campaign performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. They will prepare regular client reports showcasing key accomplishments, media coverage, and campaign impact.
- Media and Industry Expertise
- Staying informed on emerging trends in public relations, communications, and organic marketing is essential. The Account Executive will demonstrate fluency with media monitoring and tracking tools such as Meltwater, Cision, Sprout Social, and similar platforms.
- Spokesperson Duties
- On occasion, the Account Executive may represent clients as an on-the-record spokesperson, with prior client approval.
- Collaboration and Growth
- The role includes mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative work environment.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on client needs and campaign scopes.
Skills and Expertise
- Exceptional Writing and Editing Skills
- Candidates must demonstrate a proven ability to craft compelling content in varied voices and formats, tailored to diverse audiences and platforms.
- Strategic Planning and Execution
- Applicants should have experience planning and executing short-, medium-, and long-term communications and PR campaigns that achieve measurable results.
- Media and Audience Expertis
e: The ideal candidate will exhibit strong media literacy and a deep understanding of the Rhode Island and southern New England media landscape. Expertise in pitching to and building relationships with journalists, influencers, and other key stakeholders is essential.
- Digital Fluency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace is required. Familiarity with design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Experience with media monitoring platforms (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, or TVEyes) and social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) is highly valued. Knowledge of analytics platforms like Google Analytics or Sprout Social will be considered an asset.

- Candidates should demonstrate the ability to track, analyze, and report on media coverage and campaign performance, using data to drive decisions and recommendations.
