Mainfreight International is a global, full-service supply chain provider seeking exemplary candidate to join our New York Ocean new business sales team.
Become a part of a leading global supply chain company as an Ocean Freight Account Executive. This position requires candidates be based near Elizabeth, NJ, or New York, NY, offering flexibility with a connection to major urban and business centers. You will be responsible for developing new business, expanding our services portfolio, and maintaining robust relationships in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and expand business in international ocean sectors.
- Analyze client needs to deliver customized logistics solutions with a commitment to service excellence.
- Manage and grow comprehensive transportation services, including warehousing and distribution.
- Actively prospect new opportunities within the assigned sales territory to increase business volume and exceed revenue targets.
- Plan and execute weekly sales calls, manage a targeted sales list, and maintain robust business relationships.
- Drive profitability improvements and revenue increases within the designated territory.
- Handle RFPs, prepare SOPs for customer instructions, and identify new business opportunities through proactive outreach.
- Develop pricing strategies and deliver compelling sales presentations.
- Represent the organization in sales meetings and engage key customers through strategic entertainment and relationship-building activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field, or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven track record in sales within the transportation and logistics industry.
- Experience in freight forwarding; international business experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce, with advanced networking capabilities.
- Active participation in industry-related organizations is highly regarded.
Ideal Candidate:
- At least 2 years of experience in freight forwarding, with a focus on multi-modal operations such as air and/or ocean freight.
- Strong business development skills and a robust existing network of contacts.
- Ability to plan effectively and manage schedules to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Resides within or near the assigned territory.
