DETAILS:
- Direct hire, permanent position
- Pay Rate: Flexible, depending on experience. Base salary + commission
- Shift Time: 8:00am 5:00pm, Monday Friday
- Job Location: Flexible for remote, hybrid, or on-site. Office located in Dubuque, IA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Seek out new clients and develop clientele by networking to find new customers, generate lists of prospective clients, and develop a base for long term sources of clients by using referrals.
- Pursue prospective clients by developing relationships through phone solicitation, appointment scheduling, utilizing mailings, online resources and present proposals and renewals to groups.
- Tailor clients insurance policies and medical management programs by identifying additional insurance coverages that may be applicable to clients needs.
- Interview prospective clients to obtain data about their financial resources and needs, detailed information on the property to be insured, and to discuss any existing coverage.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients to provide consultative solutions, high quality service and prompt responses.
- Ensure that policy requirements are fulfilled, including the completion of appropriate forms.
- Completes coverage by delivering policy; plan future follow-up visits and evaluate needs.
- Develop relationships with underwriters to negotiate premiums, terms and conditions on behalf of client.
- Ensure timely premium collection from clients.
- Work closely with clients to mitigate risk.
- Updates job knowledge, learns new skills and product knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; attends meetings, seminars, reads professional publications; maintain personal networks; and participates in professional organizations.
- Out of town and overnight travel may be required at times.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years experience in sales or related field.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass criminal background check.
- Must hold a current resident P&C and/or Life & Health license within 30 days of being hired. A pre-licensing course is provided. Employees have a maximum of two attempts to pass the exam.
- Must pursue professional designations and complete any carrier classes that are applicable.
- Maintain continuing education credits as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing deadlines and priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Excellent service orientation skills.
