Cleveland Operations has a complex portfolio of accounts, which provides a very engaging and technically challenging book for the Account Engineering team. Depending on the level of the candidate's skill and experience this position may be eligible for alignment to Account Engineer I or Account Engineer II. Varying levels of experience and qualifications will be considered.
Responsibilities:Account Engineers coordinate and supervise the delivery of our property loss prevention engineering products to our client owners on a consistent basis throughout the world. As a result, Account Engineers have a key role in differentiating FM from our competition both with current and prospective clients.
The Account Engineer, working closely with the Account Manager, will develop an understanding of client’s business, finances, business interdependencies and supply chain. Through effective teamwork with field engineering, client service, claims and new business development, the Account Engineer provides a responsive service with innovative solutions that will foster long-term client relationships.
On a corporate basis with the client, the Account Engineer evaluates and assesses the nature, probability, and magnitude of the hazards. Then, communicates this to the client, broker and other members of the client service team. The Account Engineer will help the client understand their hazards and by using our predictive analytic tools and engineering judgment. Will work with the client to help prioritize their exposures and develop practical solutions. The Account Engineer will use these practical solutions in the development and implementation of a mutually agreed upon risk improvement plan that will fit into the client’s capital budget.
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied science or equivalent. Preferably, the candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience with FM and be a Senior Consultant Engineer level in field engineering or higher. However, previous industry experience will also be considered.
Critical skills:
- Communications - The position requires excellent communication skills within all levels of a client’s organization, from local plant staff to corporate executives. Successful Account Engineers can communicate engineering information in a format understandable by both technical and non-technical personnel. The position also requires the successful applicant to have good negotiation and presentation skills.
- Teamwork - The position requires the ability to work collaboratively with the entire Client Servicing Team. This is including the Account Manager, Account Engineering Assistant, Client Processing Specialist, Underwriter, and Field Engineering. The team will provide excellent service to your assigned clients. The most successful Account Engineers will address the engineering issues flawlessly.
- Technical - The successful applicant will have a high degree of proficiency in facility hazards property risk assessment and mitigation, including natural hazards.
- Time Management/Work Prioritization – The successful applicant has demonstrable ability to effectively manage their time to meet all internal and external customer needs. They also demonstrate the flexibility to continuously prioritize their activities to ensure the highest priority tasks are always completed first.
- Technological - A high degree of competence in the Microsoft Office suite of products. Has the ability to quickly adapt to new FM IS products and integrate them into their daily activities. The successful candidate will be expected to quickly get up to speed in Risk Console, MyRisk and the client facing training opportunities offered by Enterprise Learning.
- Other - Travel varies by account workload but will be approximately 20%
The hiring range for this position is $92,800 - $151,600. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
