The Account Director is an executive role acting as the main point of customer contact overseeing the complete governance of multiple data centers across a wide geographic area. The successful candidate will be accountable and ultimately responsible for providing a central point of leadership reporting directly to the client and has complete operational oversight of the teams managing the physical assets. Individuals considered for this opportunity are self-starters, team builders, master negotiators and administrative experts possessing a thorough command of what it takes to manage the full spectrum of customer expectations for a very hands-on client.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guide and manage local and remote data center operational teams with a goal of 100% critical infrastructure and IT uptime and no lost time injuries
- Ensure consistent service delivery and adherence to client and T5-driven operational standards across multiple sites
- Develop and implement operational best practice standards; identify areas for procedure, process, and policy improvement and work with the Critical Facility Managers (CFM) and client to implement
- Ensure compliance at the leadership level with standard operating and safety procedures by internal teams, vendors, customers, and other parties
- Responsible for day-to-day and extensive reporting requirements to customers’ operations management and senior leadership on all business related to the operation of multiple data centers in multiple locations. This includes KPI and SLA management and reporting on a regular recurring basis
- Support vendor selection process, and oversee vendor contracts, including vendor relationship management, including scope, and SLAs, participate in contract negotiation as needed
- Participate in the annual opex & capex budgeting process as requested by T5FM management
- Work with the CFMs to oversee all aspects of employee management including, but not limited to: hiring, scheduling, training and development, and performance management
- All other duties consistent with your role as you may be assigned by T5FM management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent mission-critical data center experience managing large enterprise-level or wholesale/retail data center facilities, advanced degrees preferred
- Prior executive-level interaction experience with client is a must
- Although this is an executive role, the ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of critical mechanical/electrical infrastructure systems related to data center operations, as well as the IT networks supporting the customer’s business initiatives
- 10+ years executive-management experience in mission critical data center environment(s)
- 7+ years personnel management experience
- Travel for this position is estimated at up to 50%

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required for interacting with customer’s senior leadership and support-staff, T5FM employees and executive leadership
- Highly organized with exceptional prioritization and follow-up skills
- A strong strategic-planning mindset – a big-thinker
- Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills required for understanding and evaluating complex problems and related resolutions
- Ability to assemble, develop, and lead highly technical and diverse teams
- Project management expertise, including the ability to understand the scope, planning, and management of large-scale data center projects to include the installation and commissioning of new equipment or facilities and the replacement of legacy equipment
- Strong financial acumen including the ability to create and understand annual capex and opex budgets, financial analysis, and invoicing
- Able to prioritize work based on shifting business and customer demands
- Able to work within all levels of the organization
- Able to participate and engage in C-level discussions and conversations pertinent to facility operations on a daily basis
- Able to articulate concepts and ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
- Able to plan and lead customer-requested business reviews and audits
- Able to understand IT and electrical / mechanical system concepts, as well as other technical aspects of facilities management
- Able to read and understand complex drawings, systems and other operational documentation
