Job Title: Account Clerk II (43236)
Job Locations: City of Virginia Beach, Police – Support Division
2405 Courthouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23456
Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Pay Rate: $17.15/hourly

Job Duties:
• Process court ordered expungements.
• Perform criminal background checks for other law enforcement agencies, citizen requests and for concealed carry permit applications.
• Correspond with diverse audiences including citizens, other law enforcement agencies, courts and criminal justice agencies both verbally and in writing.
• Perform records management tasks.

Requirements:
• High school or GED plus two (2) years’ experience in fields providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities, such as clerical accounting or bookkeeping; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing
• Ability to pay attention to details
• Ability to perform research
• Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
• Ability to navigate various technology programs
• Must be able to be CJIS certified and meet those requirements which will include a fingerprint-based background check. This certification requires U.S. citizenship or ten-year residency as a prerequisite.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Teams and Excel
• Ability to read and interpret complex material
