Access Control /CCTV Technician (Novice) – DFW Area
Tier One Technology is rapidly becoming the go-to company for security-based technologies throughout the United States. With our growth, we are currently hiring motivated individuals for our Access Control Technician position.
The basic responsibilities of a Tier One Access Control Technician include planning, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IP-based CCTV systems; Access Control systems; Intrusion and Detection systems. Tier One Access Control Technicians work alongside of and report to our Tier One Tech Leads to ensure timely and accurate completion of all projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Degree or GED required. Additional formal training and certifications in related fields is a strong plus.
- 0 to 3 years’ experience in the execution of large, complex IP Video Surveillance, Access Control, and Intrusion Systems in a commercial and industrial setting.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge/skill of/with computer networks, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Gateways, routers, switches.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge/skill in planning, installation, and application of Access Control, Intrusion and Video Systems.
- Intermediate knowledge in the deployment of large, complex IP Video Surveillance Systems.
- Working knowledge of electronic and digital test equipment such as multi-meters, and digital cable analyzers.
- Basic understanding of Network concepts and architectures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
- Ability to work overtime (if needed)
- Basic skills with Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel (if needed)
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
- Candidate must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a criminal background investigation.
- In good physical condition, able to work in both office and outside environments, sometimes in unusual and difficult positions such as ladders, scaffolding, lifts, confined spaces, etc.…
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively
TRAINING:
The Tier One Training Academy provides a full spectrum of security training for anyone seeking a career in this field. All candidates for hire go through our provided training and will receive a minimum stipend during this time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair, replace and maintain low-voltage equipment at customer locations:
- IP cameras (Axis, Avigilon, Geovision, Hikvision, Hanwa etc.)
- Video management software (Avigilon, Geovision, etc.)
- Windows based DVR/ NVR hardware (Milestone, Avigilon, etc.)
- Access Control Systems (OPENPATH, Gallagher, etc.)
- Intrusion Systems (DSC, Honeywell, etc.)
- Audio systems and amplifiers (Axis, Barix SIP devices, etc.)
- Switches, Routers, Power supplies, Power Distribution Units, UPS systems
- Various Category network cabling / BNC cable termination (Compression and Crimp)
- Integrating equipment onto customer and company proprietary networks
- Wireless access point equipment (Ubiquiti, etc.)
- Maintain accurate inventory and document field activities
PAY:
Entry-level pay is between $15 and $20 based on overall knowledge and abilities
