Job Description
Under general supervision of the Associate Dean of Faculty and the Director of Academic Personnel in The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, interprets university and Board of Regents policy and advises college and unit representatives on academic personnel processes to ensure consistency across The College and the university.
Salary Range
$62,000 - $74,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties
- Interprets university and Board of Regents policy pertaining to faculty and academic professionals.
- Advises college and unit representatives on academic personnel processes including promotion and tenure, faculty and academic professionals recruitment and hiring, probationary review, sabbatical leaves, faculty annual evaluations, retirement, resignation and emeritus status and more.
- Assists with reports and communication to faculty and college academic support staff.
- Reviews faculty appointment data for consistency and accuracy; coordinates with the financial team; and trains unit academic personnel representatives.
- Assists the Associate Dean of Faculty and College staff with confidential and highly sensitive projects.
- Independently composes correspondence on a variety of subjects requiring judgment, originality, and knowledge of issues involved.
- Assists with planning and executing events including new faculty workshops, Chair/Director onboarding workshops, and workshops for faculty and staff on academic personnel processes.
- Investigates, evaluates and resolves typical administrative/operational problems.
- Participates in meetings and conferences pertinent to area of responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years administrative support experience; OR,Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with faculty personnel actions administration, including, but not limited to, promotion and tenure, expedited tenure review, probationary reviews, promotion process for fixed-term faculty and academic professionals, annual faculty evaluations, and sabbatical leaves. (1 year)
- Experience with faculty recruitment processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of human resources administration, focused on academic personnel
- Demonstrated knowledge of University policies and procedures.
- Experience using Interfolio/APARS products -- Faculty Search, ASU Vita, and Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT).
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat to create and/or edit PDF documents.
- Experience working effectively in team environments subject to tight deadlines and quickly changing priorities.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of exemplary customer service principles through actively listening, acknowledging and responding to every inquiry.
- Evidence of effective problem-solving and decision-making skills in a complex organization.
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to the resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- This position is located on ASU's Tempe Campus and provides opportunities for remote work (up to 2 days a week) after the initial onboarding period.
