Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm (flexible)
Pay rate: $31 per hour on w2 basis
Job Description:
Must-Haves for this role:
• Financial Analysis : Proven experience in financial analysis and budgets analysis.
• Excel Proficiency: Strong analytical skills in Excel with the ability to quickly identify trends and issues.
• Critical Thinking: Exceptional critical thinking skills are essential.
• Experience: 2–3 years in an Analyst position.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (required), preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• Academic Environment: Prior experience in an academic setting is a must.
Job Description:
- Collaborate with the principal investigator to prepare the administrative components of proposals in compliance with sponsored and non-sponsored research guidelines. Manage and communicate the submission process for both paper and electronic formats, ensuring all documents are complete and compliant.
- Develop, prepare, and finalize project budgets, including providing detailed budget justifications.
- Act as the primary liaison and active partner between principal investigators, the Office of Sponsored Research, research teams, and other departments. Address sponsor inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Work closely with the Office of Sponsored Research to ensure proper award setup and fulfillment of cost-sharing requirements. Initiate and manage cost transfers as needed.
- Review and approve expenditures while advising on post-award spending and commitment activities. Ensure compliance with funding and revenue policies.
- Prepare and deliver reports detailing project status, offering effective forecasting tools and decision-making support.
- Manage the contract closeout process, including submitting final reports and certifications. Compile necessary information and documentation for audit inquiries.
- Interpret, apply, and provide guidance on university and government policies related to research projects.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and technical resource for principal investigators and university staff.
- Contribute to and lead process improvement initiatives. Provide leadership and guidance to staff in collaborative group projects.
