The Responsibilities:
Oversight of the General Education curriculum and faculty. Leads student retention initiative.
Curriculum
• Manage the General Education curriculum of the BSN program through support for curriculum development, ensure systematic evaluation, and continuous quality improvement activities, and collaborate with the Curriculum Committee in curriculum revisions.
• Creates course schedules following the needs of the students, availability of the faculty, and campus capacity.
Faculty
• Manage the recruitment, hiring, and development of the General Education faculty.
• Provides leadership of General Education faculty to ensure appropriately rigorous, student-centered, and engaging instruction.
• Creates faculty teaching schedules.
• Supervises and conducts face-to-face and online classroom observations of the General Education faculty and supporting staff per ABHES requirements.
• Ensures compliance with ABHES faculty development requirements.
• Monitors instructional performance and provides timely, effective feedback per College policy.
• Assures faculty personnel files are up-to-date and compliant with ABHES standards.
Support
• Collaborate with the Student Success Coordinator to implement learning resources for students.
• Monitor student needs and satisfaction with academic services that support success in the General Collaborate with the BSN program manager to track student attendance and proactively intervene with at-risk students.
Onboarding and Orientation
• Serves as the liaison to the Ambassador, ensures that the appropriate textbook selections have been made by the deadline, and that students receive their textbooks on time for their courses.
• Collaborates with Admissions in organizing during the New Student Orientation program.
• Serves on the General Education Committee and other committees.
• Other Duties as Assigned
The Requirements:
The requirements below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
• Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferred from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of two years of academic leadership experience.
• Minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience in higher education, nursing is preferred.
• Academic leadership within a career college is advantageous.
• ABHES accreditation experience is a plus.
