Job Summary
Advises students concerning their academic plans, progress, and academic and career goals in order to assist students in making personal education decisions and meeting graduation requirements. Interprets student needs and provides individualized service and assistance while maintaining confidentiality.
Essential Functions
Provides students with information on how to complete their college degree and refers students to appropriate campus and community services and resources when needed. Serves as a resource person to faculty and others with regard to academic advising policies and procedures. May review and optimize procedures as needed. May assist in the development of and participates in recruitment and retention activities related to the student population such as monitoring educational progress and/or providing application or other assistance. May maintain confidential student records and personal information. May conduct or participate in seminars, workshops or orientation sessions for students on academic, career and personal success strategies and other group activities.
Job Duties
• Maintain and update department website and social media.
• Provide communication and coordination with prospective, admitted, and enrolled ISLE students.
• Assist in marketing programs and identifying and implementing recruiting and retention efforts, including participation in occasional evening and/or weekend events.
• Coordinate the ISLE graduate admissions processes, maintain records and databases, oversee student assistants, and collaborate with ISLE faculty and personnel from the Graduate School.
• Perform administrative tasks related to scheduling, enrollment, registration, communication, student success, retention, orientation, graduation and accreditation.
• Provide assistance with academic advisement to graduate students in the following programs: Counseling, Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology & School Psychology.
• Maintain records of progress towards graduation using Banner and degree audit software in collaboration with the registrar’s office and departmental advisors.
• Maintain the confidentiality of student records and other information according to the Federal Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations.
• Serve as a member on appropriate departmental, college and/or campus advisory committees.
• Collect, assemble, present, and analyze student data; utilize a variety of university data to monitor recruitment, enrollment, and retention of ISLE students; and assist with annual reports and strategic and graduate enrollment management (GEM) plans.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- One (1) year of experience in student services or related field. Every 15 hours of graduate college coursework beyond a bachelor's degree can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.

• Ability to use Microsoft Office tools efficiently and effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in an ISLE related program area (counseling, educational leadership, educational psychology, school psychology), student affairs, higher education, or related field. Will consider applicants currently enrolled in a master’s degree program listed above.
- 2 or more years’ experience working with university/college level students.
- At least two years’ experience in on or more of the following: advising, student recruitment/retention, related student services or admissions.
- Proficiency with, Word, Excel, Access, Banner and degree audit programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of programs/activities that increase student retention, persistence and graduation in higher education.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
