**Position Purpose
**¨NBSP;
To perform the assigned job as indicated to operate the Aagard machine in accordance to the Safety, QA and USDA rules.
**Key Accountabilities
**
To prepare and operate Aagard machine in a safe, efficient, and clean manner.
**Function and Responsibilities
**
The job function of the Associate Aagard Operator will be responsible for monitoring performance, constant attendance and operating the Aagard machine. This job will be assigned to a specific line location of the Aagard machines.
Maintains constant attendance of the Aagard machine and performs proper operation.
Makes minor machine adjustments to the Aagard machine as needed.
Conducts set up of the machine prior to shift start up and at change-overs.
Conducts pre-flight inspection of machine and tooling prior to start up.
Conducts assessment of basic operation to the Aagard machine and informs the line lead, supervisor, maintenance department and Senior Aagard operator when major repairs are required.
Conducts basic troubleshooting to the Aagard machine.
Maintains constant communication with feeder operator, provides assistance and training to new feeder operators for proper job performance with this task.
Operates Label machine when Aagard machine is on Bypass mode.
Records all down time due to machine malfunctions during the shift run and at the end of the shift.
Communicates downtime to the Sr. Aagard Operator, lead, supervisor and maintenance during the shift as well as at the end of the shift regarding issues encountered for the day.
Ensures packaging material is clean of all scrap before use.
Ensures good quality of packaging material is being used and verifies with inspection for machine operation.
Clear jams in a timely manner.
**Other Responsibilities
**
Responsible for the quality of the product that meets all customer and regulatory requirements.
Ensures proper tools and supplies are available to conduct the Aagard operator function prior to shift start up and during the shift.
Assists supervisor in maintaining the work area in a clean and safe manner.
Adhere to all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), such as good hand washing practices and adhering to the employee hygiene plan.
Follow all USDA guidelines
Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and/or quality assurance
Comply with customer requirements.
Responsible for upholding, following and maintaining the requirements of all auditing agencies for Food Safety Code for Manufacturing.
Other duties as may be assigned or volunteered for.
**Skills, Experience & Qualifications
**
Good communications skills, hard working, dependable, safety conscious
Read, write English and know basic math.
Minimum 6 months of production experience.
Able to operate mechanical and electrical machines.
High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred.
Able to make logical decisions.
Work standing or walking for long periods of time.
