Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Yard Attendant in Elkridge, Maryland. The Yard Attendant position is responsible for loading, unloading, receiving/releasing of all equipment, generators and attachments; maintaining the organization of the yard for easy access; directing the delivery and returns for all equipment. Additional responsibilities include performing basic check-in inspections. Seeking candidates with mechanical aptitude. High school diploma or GED, preferred.
Requirements for the Yard Attendant position include:
Physical requirements must be met for the Yard Attendant job, including the ability to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 50 pounds, including bulky objects. This position requires repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing beside, onto and under a variety of heavy equipment. Must be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, dampness and humidity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Starting Compensation Range: $24.40-$30.15 per hour
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, candidate qualifications, education, geographic location, and other relevant business factors. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance e.g. discretionary incentive programs or non-discretionary incentive plans including overtime.

- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
