As a Workshop Engineer Turbocharger, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently disassemble, thoroughly inspect, and precisely machine and rebuild a large variety of turbocharger components according to Wärtsilä 's established guidelines and safety protocols.
This position reports to the Workshop Manager Turbocharger.
Candidates are expected to display a high level of critical thinking and reasoning skills, identify as high performers, as well as being self-motivating.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the execution of workshop service tasks, such as: overhauls, reconditioning, modification, cleaning, and machining of ABB, Napier and KBB turbochargers.
- Liaise closely with Senior Workshop Engineers to ensure work scopes are kept within budget and specified delivery schedule.
- Gather technical information from TKB by accessing technical bulletins and operational / overhaul instruction from product manual.
- Access parts catalogue to find out parts required that needs to be ordered to support overhauling or repair of the component / equipment.
- Ensure that all activities in the workshop and on-site are carried out in accordance with the site safety rules and in compliance with the Company's Health and Safety standard ISO 4500112018.
- Ensure that all work is carried out to ISO 900112015 standards.
- Be an integral part of the workshop team and strive to achieve common goals and customer deadlines, whereby working overtime hours may be required.
- Adopt a pleasant, adaptable attitude towards any "ad-hoc" duties that may be required.
- Always carry out all tasks in such a way as to ensure maximum (internal and external) satisfaction to the extent that this is within the employee's control.
- Undergo appropriate training to gain competencies with heavy lifting equipment; Forklift, overhead gantry cranes, component turning equipment.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- A safety-first mindset.
- Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and experience, as well as 3+ years' experience on ABB TPL/ VYT series / Napier turbochargers.
- Technical experience with reciprocating engines.
- Good ability to cooperate and communicate with other people and good command of English, both oral and written
- Experience on ABB TPL73/ TPL77/VTR354 (including alignment before removal/installation, centrifuge installation and alignment, lube oil pumps installation and alignment, K-L-M measurements and cartridge replacement lifting and rigging) is preferred.
- Ability to work alone.
- Able to operate rotating machinery, such as balancing machine, lathes, drills.
- Able to troubleshoot turbocharger issues/performance.
- Competent with turbocharger washing systems.
