AECOM is seeking a University of Delaware student looking to use their winter session for a Civil/Highway Engineering Internship to be based in Newark, DE.

This position is expected to begin in January 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in the development of plans, details, and calculations through the use of design manuals, a variety of civil engineering design software applications, and MS Office applications.
• Assisting with reviewing field information, possible field inspection of existing facilities, and other work consistent with the duties of an entry-level engineer.
• General office administration, including report reproduction, collation, and deliveries.
• Enthusiastic individuals eager to face new challenges and take on personal responsibilities are best qualified to meet the demands of this work. An intern is expected to be able to apply technical training to perform basic calculations, work well in a team setting, and be willing to work diligently to learn new skills.

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Capability in AutoCAD and/or Bentley CAD drafting software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
• This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Newark, DE. The selected candidate must be available to work in Newark, DE on a scheduled basis.
