The Wholesale Customer Relationships Manager serves as the primary liaison between the Wholesale team, Marketing, and customers. This role is focused on coordinating field support to promote sales and achieve sales goals. Responsibilities include organizing in-store activations, staff education sessions, visual merchandising, distributing digital marketing assets, executing sponsored events, and overseeing the brand ambassador team in NJ. The Wholesale Customer Relationships Manager ensures seamless execution of launches, promotions, events, and outreach opportunities. This position reports to the VP of Sales.
Location: Daily travel Monday-Friday and frequent weekends within the state of New Jersey.
Primary Responsibilities:
Brand Ambassador Management:
- Collaborate with the Wholesale team to provide intentional and effective field support.
- Partner with Marketing to ensure Brand Ambassadors have all necessary and up-to-date assets, materials, and supplies for field execution.
- Manage the focus and priorities of the Brand Ambassador team for the week/month (e.g., brand, product launch, LTO, promotion).
- Work with Marketing to request and oversee visual in-store merchandising.
- Develop and execute a distribution plan for marketing assets across external accounts.
- Consistently achieve weekly and monthly pop-up, drop-in, and account activation targets; account engagement micro-events, company-sponsored events, cannabis industry networking events, participation in trade shows, and other miscellaneous events.
- Update and maintain the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software with detailed and comprehensive account notes.
- Onboard and train new Brand Ambassador team members.
Sponsored Events:
- Partner with the Wholesale and Marketing teams to identify events that enhance brand awareness and drive sales.
- Oversee product sample management, including coordinating sample pickups and delegating responsibilities.
- Identify and procure necessary marketing materials for activations and events.
- Serve as the on-site contact for event production, coordinating with event planners and managing all logistics.
- Example: Simply Herb Vape Launch:
- Act as the main contact with the Event Planner during the planning phase.
- Manage venue, caterer, photographer, and other vendors.
- Coordinate the ordering, delivery, setup, and breakdown of marketing assets and materials.
Partner Brand Field Support:
- Communicate opportunities for new store openings, merchandising needs, in-store support requests, and events such as grand openings, open houses, and dispensary-hosted events.
- Organize and distribute event information to key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related preferred.
- 3+ years of proven experience in wholesale, customer relationship management, or marketing coordination.
- Marketing, Communication, Broadcast, or Public Relations experience is a plus.
- 3+ years of cannabis industry experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in leading, training, and mentoring a team of Brand Ambassadors to achieve performance goals and uphold brand standards.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proficient in managing events, logistics, and vendor coordination.
- Willingness and availability to work outside standard business hours, including weekends; ensuring active participation in events and initiatives as required.
- Reliable transportation, ensuring punctuality and flexibility to travel within the local network for on-site engagements.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and proactively address challenges.
