JOB TITLE: Director - Sales REPORTS TO: Sr. VP – Enterprise Solutions OVERVIEW OF ROLE: Responsible for Top Line Company revenue growth through Asset, Asset Light /Non-Asset product growth as well as training and development of all Local Account Executives and in heavy support of the Corporate Account sales channel(s). Aggressively manage and guide the organization to continuously improve upon current performance as well as develop and drive a strategy towards execution and a winning culture! Additional candidate location flexibility may exist within the states of PA, OH, NC, VA, IN, IL based upon company footprint alignment which may be discussed during the interviewprocess. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Management of top line revenue performance and yield/profit improvement for all products/services within the Ward Network, to include Non-Asset & Asset Light product offerings.
- Ability to manage the analysis of internal/external data to offer optimal solutions to Ward’s external customer base and using this feedback to further drive strategic discussion.
- Aggressive in managing/measuring sales performance, to include day to day sales activities, KPI’s, pipeline management, RFP/RFI activity and realization.
- Closely manage the life cycle of Wards Contract Management to include winning negotiation, timely execution and performance realization.
- Manages and aligns a consistent go-to-market strategy across multiple selling channels to support performance goals & objectives. This includes the Customer Development Team and the VP of Marketing.
- Communication of Top Line Revenue results & strategies having regular interaction with sr. leadership.
- Joint sales calls/ strategic meetings with the Local & Corporate Account Executives on key opportunities.
- Works directly with Yield Management team to drive profit and yield through Ward LTL, Project/Pool Distribution, Dedicated, Warehousing, LTL Consolidation and Brokerage growth.
- Responsible for strategizing with Operations, MIS & Yield Management Team relating to National Transportation Data, Competitor Activity, Industry technology trends as well as freight flow opportunities which will drive efficiencies within the Ward Direct & Partnership Networks.
- Performs and manages training & development with the Local Account Executives to efficiently provide confident consultative transportation solutions to Ward’s customer base.
- Assists Local Account Executives and leadership partners to set defined goals and strategy for all of sales to drive top line performance.
- Manages feedback to Product Development and Marketing Team members to provide the most efficient go- to-market product strategy within the transportation industry.
- Responsible for active talent management, to include regular performance evaluations and coaching for the selling organization. This includes continuous performance improvement initiatives.
- Attends the most prominent customer and outside transportation seminars relating to transportation industry current and future industry trends.
