About the Job
At Saltbox, the Web Developer role is responsible for developing landing pages, managing tracking configurations & performance reporting, and implementing technical SEO best practices for our clients. This role uses Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Google Sheets, CallRail, Google Ads, Bing Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn Ads systems to enable insights into traffic, user behavior, and conversion performance. This role works in a variety of content management systems like Wordpress, Hubspot, Contentful, Webflow, etc., depending on the client’s tech stack. From a coding perspective, this role works primarily with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Key Functional Areas of Responsibility
Develop landing page templates for PPC advertising campaigns.
Audit new clients’ existing tracking configurations for issues & best practice gaps.
Confidently communicate tracking recommendations to clients.
Implement page view, event, and conversion tracking in Google Tag Manager.
Implement website changes in support of technical SEO, based on recommendations from the SEO team.
Configure call tracking (e.g. CallRail) for client websites and ads.
Maintain existing clients’ tracking configurations in Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Google/Bing/LinkedIn/Meta Ads.
Troubleshoot and fix any marketing attribution data issues in Google Analytics.
Embed tracking codes on client websites on platforms like Wordpress, Shopify, Hubspot, etc..
Create and update one-off client reporting dashboards in Google Looker Studio.
Create one-off reports for clients and our internal team in Google Sheets when necessary to support custom client requests.
Keep pace with web analytics & tracking industry trends and developments.
Work closely with the other team members to ensure that all client tracking and reporting needs are supported.
Provide technical support and feedback to the SEO and PPC teams.
Professional Competencies, Skills, & Qualifications
Experience working in an agency setting.
Proficiency with JavaScript.
Proficiency with Google Tag Manager.
Familiarity with Google, Bing, Meta, and LinkedIn Ads tracking scripts.
Familiarity with React.
Attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven atmosphere.
Ability to clearly and effectively articulate thoughts and points.
Ability to learn new industries and new business types quickly and can apply this knowledge to internet marketing initiatives and achieving client goals.
High levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation.
Excellent analytical, organizational, project management, and time management skills.
