Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking a Project Engineer in the Water business unit in our Birmingham, Alabama, Columbus, Georgia or Gwinnett, Georgia office location. The main function will consist of design of gravity sewers, force mains, water mains, wastewater lift stations and water booster stations. Supports engineering projects, document development and design, and coordinating related tasks. This role will provide an opportunity to work on small projects with some complex features and portions of larger scale projects.

Supports engineering projects, document development and design, and coordinating related tasks. This role will provide an opportunity to work on small projects with some complex features and portions of larger scale projects.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Prepares contract documents that include construction drawings, technical specifications, and construction cost opinions.
- Ensures Quality Program implementation and execution.
- Authors and/or reviews project reports and findings. Makes modifications to project as needed.
- Provides technical engineering guidance and resolves project problems, challenges, and obstacles.
- May act as primary agent between client and project team coordinating events, leading client meetings & internal project meetings, and delivery of final project to client.
- Monitors construction progress and consults with contractors, resident project representatives and on-site engineers.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with clients, customers, regulatory permitting agencies, contractors, and others.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Education & Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited program.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience performing water and wastewater design.
- Registered PE in the State of Georgia or Alabama, or the ability to acquire within 6 months.
- Applies practical knowledge through progressive experience to resolve issues.
