About the Job
Our Water group in North Carolina is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to join our Morrisville office. The successful candidate will serve existing clients and expand the water practice in the Carolinas and surrounding states, aligning with our strategic growth plan. Our water group in North Carolina boasts a strong project backlog.
Role Overview:
Lead and support the current team while growing the water/wastewater practice.
Maintain and develop client relationships, manage projects, and mentor junior staff.
Promote the water/wastewater practice through sales and outreach.
Build and lead a team, communicate effectively, and possess a strong understanding of water and wastewater engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage water and wastewater projects including system distribution, treatment, pump and lift stations, studies, modeling, design, and construction administration.
Set goals and objectives for project teams, coordinate resources, and ensure project delivery.
Mentor junior engineers and supervise their work.
Lead marketing and proposal efforts, including preparing proposals and presentations, and developing scope and fee structures.
Required Qualifications:
BS Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (MS degree is a plus).
11+ years of water and wastewater experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina.
At least 5 years of experience managing multi-disciplined water and wastewater projects.
Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
Familiarity with local municipalities (City of Raleigh, City of Durham, PWC, OWASA, High Point, etc.).
Knowledge of NCDOT methods and procedures is a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead project pursuits.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
