The Wastewater Maintenance Technician position earns competitive pay of $14.61/hr. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WASTEWATER MAINTENANCE TEHNICIAN
As a Wastewater Maintenance Technician, you spend your day maintaining grounds and landscaping, responding to customer complaints, transporting sludge, assisting other crews and performing equipment and vehicle inspections. Your work typically is to maintain and monitor all aspects of the city's wastewater infrastructure. Your job is essential to the city, and you often operate construction related equipment that will assist in maintaining grounds and landscaping. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include understanding knowledge of sewer line maintenance and repair. When you are not out in the city, you generally participate in learning about landscaping principles and proper sludge/waste disposal. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in maintenance and operation of sewer infrastructure and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A WASTEWATER MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
- High school diploma, GED or equivalency
- No experience required
- Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
- Achieve TCEQ Class I Wastewater Collection License within (1) first year of employment.
- Achieve TCEQ Class II Wastewater Collection License within (3) three years of employment.
- Achieve TCEQ Class III Wastewater Collection License within (5) five years of employment.
- Achieve Class "B" CDL from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record with a tank endorsement within (1) first year of employment.
