About the Job
This person will be participating in projects deploying, installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco and Voice infrastructure. The VoIP Engineer will also deploy and configure Microsoft Teams Phone with PSTN connectivity through Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Microsoft Teams Calling Plans. Provide high-level troubleshooting and technical support to IP telephony and VoIP in SDWAN environments. The ideal person would be able to provide technical support and evaluate technical requirements for projects to determine the impact to the infrastructure including equipment redundancy and capacity requirements
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership in design, architecture, implementation and support of voice systems and related applications while supporting VoIP platforms, enterprise telephony and turret systems common to securities trading or investment banking environments.
Collaborate with telephony providers and third-party vendors to enable advanced voice features and resolve voice incidents related to campuses and back offices
Support vendors integrating VOIP telephony/turret systems, both remote and in office.
Coordinate and execute testing/troubleshooting of VOIP telephony and trading turrets on LAN, WAN, and VPN connections in addition to conducting research, procurement, deployment, and configuration of systems.
Deploy and configure Microsoft Teams Phone with PSTN connectivity through Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and Microsoft Teams Calling Plans Document new system components, or modifications to existing components.
Create and manage change requests following Change management policies
Test and validate changes in addition to documenting change management activities
Upgrade voice infrastructure devices as required by Cisco recommendations, and potential bugs or vulnerabilities.
Monitor KRI metrics for voice on branches, campuses and session border controllers to ensure those comply with hardening Give updates on a consistent basis to management, identifying risks and defining actions plan to remediate them.
Troubleshoot complex IP Telephony issues in addition to creating ladder diagrams with packet traces and determining the root cause of technical issues that arise.
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required
2-3+ years of experience within networking, telephony and/or PBX environments
Bilingual in English & Spanish (written, verbal) is mandatory
Proven success in multi-vendor PBX and multi-carrier PSTN trunk integrations using SIP
Previous experience with Cisco CUCM, CUC and/or Oracle Session Border Controller
Experience with BT Trading turrets, or functional equivalent, conceptual understanding of BT TPO/TSS platform, MRDs, ARDs, and hoot/holler lines common to securities trading
Experience with wireless networking technologies, wireless LAN controllers, access points
Desired Requirements (Not Mandatory):
Experience operating networks using routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS is a plus
Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Cisco Nexus and Catalyst 9000 model switches; competence in Layer 2 protocols including, R-PVST, PVST is preferred
Valid Cisco certifications including CCNP, CCDA, CCDP and CCIE are desired
