About the Role:
Currently, the National IT End User Services Group is seeking a self-motivated, versatile Desktop Virtualization Engineer to be located in Dallas, TX. The Desktop Virtualization Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end design and engineering lifecycle of virtual computing products and services running on Windows desktop OS. The successful candidate will ensure end user solutions are designed and built to meet and exceed approved business use cases. This person will provide technical subject matter expertise to other engineering teams, application delivery and operational support groups.
You Will:
- Translates technical and business requirements into Enterprise level designs, validates in a test lab environment, publishes findings and provides knowledge transfer internally.
- Provides technical leadership and serves as the technical point of contact for assigned projects.
- Participates in design sessions, assessment, analysis and troubleshooting.
- Assists in design of practical and cost effective solutions and services that meet customer requirements.
- Supports operational teams with technical subject matter expertise.
- Assists with knowledge transfer to internal engineering and operational peers.
- Researches new technologies, services and products and work with appropriate engineering teams to evaluate their applicability.
- Provides advanced technical support and guidance for troubleshooting incidents.
- Coordinates with vendors and National IT End User Services Operations team to resolve Tier 3 issues.
- Coordinates and manages technical pilot and production projects including scheduling, resource identification, and making recommendations based on testing results.
- Documents solutions to complex technical problems.
- Develops automation to replace/simplify daily operational tasks.
- Recommends procedures, controls and business continuity plans to mitigate risks and prevent recurring issues.
- Develops and documents complex scripts to be utilized for automation of the virtual desktop infrastructure.
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
- Three years of work experience with VMware Horizon View. VMware Certified Professional certification or higher preferred.
- Agile, Six Sigma, Scrum Product Owner, ITIL Foundation certifications preferred; Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred.
- Proven track record of delivering technology services and products, and success in establishing regional and global relationships with other technology groups.
- Knowledge of and experience with planning and executing a software platform change with minimal disruption of service to the client.
- Comfortable with tools and mechanisms for distributing new or enhanced software across the organization's software infrastructure; processes and practices for executing a hardware platform change with minimal disruption in service to the client.
- Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.
- Demonstrates understanding of troubleshooting techniques and tools. Ability to proactively recognize and resolve unique technical issues.
- Experience creating Enterprise level architectures that are focused on core technologies and include cloud-based service offerings.
- Capable of troubleshooting infrastructure and client issues; use of Application delivery technologies such as Remote App, App volumes, and App-V.
- Knowledge of hypervisors, networking technologies, storage subsystems, as it pertains to integrate into an overall VDI solution.
- Skilled in Scripting, Automation of Installation, planning, directing, and documenting significant technical initiatives.
- Equivalent education and or experience may be substituted for any of the above.

This role allows for the employee to work in a hybrid manner with some work conducted onsite at the Federal Reserve work location and some work conducted remotely. Specific schedule details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
