Newtek Bank, N.A. is looking for a Vice President, Strategic Project ManagerThe Vice President, Strategic Project Manager will be responsible for leading our Fiserv projects, implementations, and vendor management initiatives. This senior role will focus on the strategic oversight of banking operations, particularly in managing and optimizing traditional Fiserv systems running on Unisys and Windows as a virtual machine (VM). The ideal candidate will drive the successful delivery of key projects, manage critical vendor relationships, and ensure that our technology investments align with business objectives.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Strategic Project Management:
Lead Major Implementations: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex Fiserv system implementations and upgrades, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Project Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of projects, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact, resource availability, and risk management.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership, business units, and IT teams to ensure that projects meet organizational needs and deliver expected outcomes.
Vendor Management:
Vendor Strategy: Develop and execute a vendor management strategy, ensuring that relationships with Fiserv, Unisys, and other key vendors are optimized for performance and cost-effectiveness.
Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for contracts and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring that terms are favorable and aligned with organizational goals.
Vendor Performance: Monitor vendor performance, addressing any issues, and ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with agreed-upon standards.
Technology Oversight:
Systems Strategy: Provide strategic oversight of Fiserv systems, ensuring that technology investments are aligned with the long-term goals of the organization.
Innovation and Improvement: Identify opportunities for technology innovation and process improvement, leveraging new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all systems and processes are compliant with banking regulations, internal policies, and industry standards.
Leadership:
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of project managers, business analysts, and other professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, finance, operations, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of projects and initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Minimum of 10 years of experience in banking operations and project management, with significant experience in managing Fiserv systems and vendor relationships.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead large-scale projects and cross-functional teams in a complex banking environment.
Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate business goals into actionable technology initiatives.
Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Certifications: PMP or other relevant project management certifications are a plus.

Education & Certification Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
