Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time Vice President Mobile Video and Solutions Engineering role to join our growing and dynamic Executive Team where you will have a significant impact on shaping the future of our company's technology stack and market position in the public transit sector. Decisions and strategies implemented in this role will have long-term effects on the company's growth and innovation trajectory. The role will handle complex challenges in integrating new technologies and systems into the public transit market.
The successful Vice President Mobile Video and Solutions Engineering candidate will be responsible for transforming and elevating our company's presence in the public transit technology sector. The candidate will help evolve the business from server-based software to a dynamic, recurring SaaS tech stack and business model. The role is responsible for driving efficiency, quality, and velocity through comprehensive automation across the DevSecOps model, covering everything from build, test, and deploy, to monitor. The role will also have a special focus on developing our "Connected Platform" for public transit that combines our products into an integrated solution providing passenger information displays, mobile security, and unified software sitting on a unified network connectivity layer. The role demands a leader who can envision and implement a comprehensive strategy for connected devices, ensuring robust and secure integration through APIs and open interfaces with existing public transit infrastructures. Drawing inspiration from industry benchmarks in IoT, wireless, and smart city initiatives, this role will guide the company in adopting best practices and innovative solutions. This includes ensuring remote connectivity, lifecycle management, analytics, and monitoring of IoT devices are tailored to the unique needs of public transit systems.

- Engineering Leadership and Strategy:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities in the realm of mobile video / CCTV (hardware and software).
- Develop strategies to enhance the efficiency of R&D operations in line with the company's long-term goals.
- Connected Platform Development:
- Led implementation of a comprehensive "Connected Platform" for public transit, integrating hardware and software solutions.
- Ensure the platform delivers robust connectivity and seamless system integration, enhancing public transit operations and user experience.
- IoT and Connectivity Expertise:
- Drive innovation in IoT-connected devices, focusing on remote management, lifecycle management, and analytics specific to public transit needs.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in IoT and connectivity, applying this knowledge to advance our technology stack.
- SaaS Transition and Operational Efficiency:
- Strategically oversee the shift to a SaaS-based model, ensuring it aligns with our goals in the public transit technology space.
- Leverage automation in the DevSecOps lifecycle to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
- System Integration and Interoperability:
- Ensure our solutions are designed for easy integration with existing public transit systems and infrastructures.
- Promote interoperability standards to facilitate seamless data exchange and functionality across different transit systems.
- Strategic Leadership and Team Management:
- Build and mentor a team of engineers and managers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to align engineering efforts with broader company strategies and market.
- Quality Assurance and Optimization:
- Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality mobile video solutions.
- Continuously optimize and enhance existing products for performance, scalability, and user experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The Vice President Mobile Video and Solutions Engineering will be an experienced, operationally oriented professional who can successfully lead as a very hands-on Vice President to scale for additional growth and maximize potential.
This professional will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA preferred..
- 10+ years in engineering leadership, with a proven track record in IoT, SaaS, and software development. In-depth knowledge of mobile video platforms, streaming technologies, and emerging trends in the industry is strongly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans that drive business growth and innovation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Proven experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and financial management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications is required, including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
