About the Job
We are seeking a dedicated Vice President of Donor Relations to join our team at a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth across Florida. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, you will play a pivotal role in securing vital funds to sustain and expand our programs at Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Inc.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to our statewide donor relations team, ensuring alignment with our financial development goals.
Team Management: Oversee and support our donor relations team, fostering a culture of excellence through training, motivation, and regular evaluation.
Public Relations: Effectively communicate our mission and impact through various media channels, publications, and verbal presentations.
Fundraising: Cultivate charitable gifts through innovative approaches such as direct mail, payroll deductions, and other strategic methods.
Donor Engagement: Implement strategies to enhance current and deferred gift support, including wills, gift annuities, and charitable trusts.
Analysis and Reporting: Conduct comprehensive analysis of fundraising efforts, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
Event Coordination: Plan and execute fundraising events, ensuring each event aligns with organizational objectives.
Crisis Management: Develop and maintain a crisis management policy, remaining vigilant to potential challenges that may impact our operations.
Requirements:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising and development.
Fundraising Expertise: Proven track record in managing diverse fundraising initiatives, including high net worth individuals, foundations, and corporate relations.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in fundraising applications and data analysis to drive strategic decision-making and revenue forecasting.
Leadership: Experience in supervising geographically distributed teams, fostering collaboration and achieving collective goals.
Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, to diverse stakeholders.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to set and achieve strategic goals, manage multiple priorities, and establish effective relationships.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and solve problems effectively.
Professionalism in managing sensitive situations and maintaining confidentiality.
Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours as needed.
Physical Requirements: While most work is conducted in indoor office settings, occasional outdoor events may require tolerance to varying weather conditions.
