We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Audit Project Leader to join our Internal Audit team. This role is located in Lake Mary, FL OR Jersey City, NJ – Hybrid (3 days in the office).
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Knowledge and experience in broker-dealer trading and operations, margin requirements, liquidity management, regulatory reporting, 15c3 regulatory requirements, custody, clearance and settlement, collateral management, cash management, payments and trade finance preferred.
- Conducts risk-focused audits from planning, fieldwork, and reporting in alignment with Internal Audit policies, methodologies, and standards to identify significant issues, risks, and other exposures.
- Responsible for ensuring testing (or other tasks as applicable) is adequate and accurate to allow an evaluation of adherence to company policies and procedures, audit methodologies, and all applicable regulations.
- Demonstrates proficiency and comprehension of businesses and processes through the creation of flowcharts, preparation of work papers, identification of issues, and engaging in discussions with management and audit personnel.
- Identify inconsistencies within the control environment, regulatory requirements, and best practices, while clearly explaining the audit process to clients along with any findings or results.
- Applies advanced analytical problem-solving skills and leads others in solving complex issues and identifying innovative solutions.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant fields.
- 7-10 years of experience working in Audit, financial services or banking.
- Strong communication, influencing skills and confidence in communicating with stakeholders both internal and external both written and verbal with the ability to influence at a senior level.
- Substantial operations, conduct, and governance understanding and exposure.
- Demonstrates a robust understanding of risk management and control processes.
- Self-starter with a high degree of self-sufficiency
- Excellent planning, co-ordination, organization, and presentation skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change.
- Strong knowledge and use of Excel and other Microsoft software – PowerPoint, Word, Visio
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including with colleagues remotely.
- Recognized relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. CIA, CMIIA, ACA, ACCA, CAMS), but not essential

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $81,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
