Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Caring for special needs boarders (e.g., diabetic, geriatric, epileptic animals)
- Restraining a variety of animals, including canine, feline, and exotic species
- Cleaning exam rooms, surgical suites, cages, and more
- Administering oral medications
- Documenting patient well-being and condition
- Assisting in emergency situations and preparing the ER table
- Preparing surgical materials according to procedure requirements
- Supporting LVTs with TPRs, blood pressure checks, and incision evaluations
- Triaging emergency appointments alongside the ER doctor
- Capturing radiographs, such as thorax and abdominal views
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Organized and collaborative team players
- Ability to follow directions and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with animals of various species and sizes
- Good computer skills and attention to detail
- Strong willingness to learn and a love for animals
- 1 year of experience in general practice or emergency veterinary work
- Ability to stand, lift, and perform duties for up to 8 hours and handle weights up to 50 lbs.
- Neat, professional appearance and adherence to uniform standards
- Knowledge of animal medications
- Strong communication skills and ability to build client and peer relationships
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Own reliable transportation
