Blue & Gold Fleet has been the premier provider of ferry and water excursion services on San Francisco Bay for over 40 years, offering the famous one-hour San Francisco Bay Cruise, the 90-minute Escape from the Rock Cruise around Alcatraz Island and a Sunset Cruise.
The company provides regular ferry service to Sausalito and through its contract with the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) service to: Harbor Bay, Main Street Alameda, Oakland, Richmond, Seaplane Lagoon, South San Francisco, Vallejo, Oracle Park (for San Francisco Giants games and special events) and Chase Center (for Golden State Warriors games and special events). Blue & Gold Fleet operates a fleet of 21 vessels.
Job DescriptionThe primary responsibilities of ensuring the safe, operational condition of vessels in accordance with USCG regulations typically include:
- Perform maintenance including but is not limited to diesel engines, reduction gears, electrical, hydraulic, sanitary, and pneumatic systems, deck related repairs, shop tooling and company vehicles.
- Plan vessel projects and repairs, including ordering material and parts.
- Troubleshoot machinery and equipment issues and perform needed repairs.
- Complete and report vessel condition surveys.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the Facilities and on Vessels.
- Promotes and demonstrates commitment to safety, environmental, and customer service excellence.
- Minimum of three years' experience as an Engineer within the Small Passenger Vessel Industry, or equivalent field.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record without major violations for the past 5 years.
- Possess a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card).
- Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and navigate interpersonal dynamics in a professional manner.
Rate - $38.04 - $53.33 (DOE)
