Job Summary:
Maintenance, repair, and service of all Enterprise vehicles/equipment and JRT Center building/grounds facilities under the supervision of the Operations Foreman. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting and driving the Company’s Values, RIGHT: Respect, Integrity, Growth, Honesty and Teamwork.
Work Performed:
- Responsible for repairing, maintaining, and servicing vehicles/equipment, tools/facilities in accordance with established safety subparts, operating procedures, and industry best practices.
- Maintain work area safety and security during and after work hours. Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and safe condition at all times.
- Promote safe, efficient, cost-effective maintenance practices. Make recommendations to improve reliability, minimize risk and to reduce liability.
- Responsible for safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Repair air tools, jackhammers, etc., as needed.
- Repair and rebuild small engines for pumps, saws, tampers, and generators, as needed.
- Schedules service/maintenance initiates/completes and records work/activities in WAM as applicable. Maintains associated files, as needed.
- Discuss and recommend service intervals and changes in service procedures for all vehicles and equipment.
- Communicate with internal and external customers in a responsible and courteous manner.
- Perform welding, cutting, and brazing, as needed, on equipment after completion of an approved welding training course and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Make pick-ups for parts and equipment as needed and install stripes and decals for all fleets.
- Installation of all emergency lighting and equipment.
- Assist with various Building Maintenance inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Operations Foreman.
- Immediately brings unsafe practice or conditions to the attention of Supervisors.
- Immediately brings abnormal instances of vehicle abuse and major mechanical problems to the attention of the Supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High School education.
- ASE Master Technician Certification for Automobiles and Medium-Heavy Trucks or ability to attain within two (2) years.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license with the ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (C.D.L.) with tanker and hazardous material endorsements, or the ability to attain within six (6) months
- Availability for on-call and after-hours, weekend and holiday emergency and scheduled overtime.
- Good attendance record.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
Moderate walking, standing, climbing, crawling, grasping, reaching over head/side, stooping, bending, reaching; heavy lifting and carrying; working outside and inside; exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes; working around moving objects and machinery with moving parts. Work also emphasizes visual acuity, hearing, and speech. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted, 100 pounds assisted.
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by any and all employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Individuals must pass a company pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to commencing work.
Work various changing shifts or extended hours pending on Company needs. Work 24-hour on-call duty on a rotating schedule as needed. Ability to handle mobile callouts to assist with emergency breakdowns and on-the-spot repairs.
Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States.
This position requires a Commercial Drivers License. Use of marijuana, whether allowed by state law or medical marijuana card, controlled substances, prescribed or otherwise, not allowed by the Federal Motor Carriers Administration of the United States Department of Transportation, disqualifies candidacy.
Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, pre-employment physical, background check, and have a valid driver’s license.
