About the Job
VFI seeks an experienced Engineering Technician IV with skills to complement an experienced team of technicians performing security system design, installation, and maintenance in support of the United States Navy SEIMMP II subcontract.
Note: All Candidates must possess a Department of Defense (DoD) TS/SCI Security Clearance
Location: Based out of Chesapeake, VA
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00 am - 5:00 pm
Responsibilities:
- Physical inspection of access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection devices to ensure full functionality and proper alignment.
- Review system and error logs for any problem indications.
- Test access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection devices to verify proper operation.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance to keep equipment and systems in maximum operating condition.
- Proper selection and use of General-Purpose Electronic Test Equipment to affect fault isolation and/or equipment repairs.
- CONUS travel to affect installation and maintenance activity
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and seven (7) years' experience or High School diploma with 10 years of electronic security installation experience.
- Five (5) years' experience related to the installation, design, repair, troubleshooting, fabrication, assembly, production, integration and test of electronic equipment.
- Three (3) years' experience in the installation and maintenance of range of telecommunication or AIS hardware, including, but not limited to, racking/stacking and interfacing of equipment such as receivers, converters, recorders, modems, routers, and computer-based systems.
- Program and troubleshoot LENEL manufactured security system and access control system equipment and software.
- Work in network rooms or closets for extended periods of time installing equipment.
- Ability to coordinate with Team Lead, Technical Engineers, and other contractor(s).
- Multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environments.
- Adapt to a dynamic environment with shifting priorities while adhering to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Valid Passport of at least 2 years for International Travel
- A current DoD TS/SCI level clearance
- Must be able to work with team members, customers, and contractors in a professional manner.
- LNEL Certified Associate (LCA) certification
- CompTIA Security + Certification is a plus
