To meet our growth goals, we are adding an VRF Piping Mechanic to the team. Piping Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of VRF systems and associated piping in commercial and residential buildings. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, ensuring precise installation of piping systems, and adhering to safety regulations. The VRF Piping Mechanic works closely with project managers, HVAC technicians, and other trades to ensure the smooth execution of projects, contributing to the effective functioning of VRF systems. Minimum 3yrs of HVAC piping installation and 1 VRF working with VRF Systems.
Job Duties:
- Install VRF piping systems according to manufacturer guidelines and project specifications, including refrigerant piping, condensate lines, and insulation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements for VRF systems.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install copper piping, ensuring precise measurements and accurate placement.
- Braze, solder, and pressure test refrigerant piping to ensure system integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform leak tests on all installed piping systems to ensure that they are leak-free and meet all safety regulations.
- Work with HVAC technicians to connect piping systems to indoor and outdoor VRF units, ensuring proper functioning of the entire system.
- Install related components such as brackets, hangers, and insulation to secure and protect piping.
- Collaborate with other trades on-site, including electricians and general contractors, to ensure coordination and timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety standards and regulations at all times.
- Troubleshoot and repair existing VRF systems, including the replacement of piping, fittings, and insulation as necessary.
- Follow company safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards.
- Maintain detailed records of work completed, including daily reports, measurements, and materials used.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates to project managers and superintendents regarding the progress of VRF piping installations.
- Assist with the commissioning and startup of VRF systems, ensuring that all piping installations are functioning correctly.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in VRF technology and piping techniques.
- Participate in on-the-job training and professional development opportunities.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
