Removery was formed in 2019 through a merge of the four leading tattoo removal brands in North America. The underlying businesses have operated a combination of 20 years and have performed more than 1 million treatments, enabling us to offer clients an unrivaled treatment experience. Based in Austin, TX, Removery is the only scaled, pure play provider of laser tattoo removal services in the world. We use best in class technology utilizing the innovative PicoWay® laser equipment to remove tattoos safely and effectively. The foundation is in place to build a network of 400 locations across the US, Canada, and Australia over the next 5 years.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Removery is seeking its next Vice President, Technology to lead our Product and Information Technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate can both lead at a strategic level, while also being able to dive into projects and support as a player-coach when necessary. The role will be part of our Senior Leadership Team and report to our Chief Executive Officer.
As the Leader of Information and Technology, you will shape the company's technical vision and strategy. You will be responsible for driving innovation, ensuring the scalability and security of our technology infrastructure, fostering collaboration, and leading cross-functional teams to develop and deliver best-in-class products and solutions. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a deep technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for driving technical excellence.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technology Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and long-term vision. Lead the technology roadmap, ensuring it supports innovation and growth.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a diverse technology team, including software engineers, data scientists, IT professionals, and other technical specialists. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Innovation: Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry trends. Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies to enhance our products and services. Promote a culture of innovation, research, and development within the technology organization.
- Infrastructure and Scalability: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of a secure, scalable, and reliable technology infrastructure. Ensure systems can handle current and future business needs.
- Cybersecurity: Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and practices to protect the company's data and assets. Stay current on cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies. Act as the Security Officer for the Company.
- Product Development: Oversee the Product Team and the successful launch of new products and initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Marketing and Contact Center, to develop strategies that drive bookings and revenue growth.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors and partners. Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships to ensure optimal service and value.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control. Provide regular financial reports and analysis to senior leadership.
- Compliance and Regulations: Stay informed about relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements. Ensure that technology systems and practices are in compliance with all applicable laws and standards.
- Board Reporting and Presentation: Interaction with Company Board of Directors to communicate road maps, budget alignment, risks, and opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology or related field from an accredited college or university (or equivalent professional experience); Master’s degree preferred
- Ten years of professional experience in Senior Technology leadership roles, with a strong technical background and hands-on experience in software development and architecture
- In-depth knowledge of web and mobile technologies, cloud infrastructure, and data management
- Track record of successfully leading and growing high-performing Product and Engineering teams
- Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of security & compliance frameworks such as PCI, HIPAA & NIST
- Experience with Cyber Security planning, Security Roadmap, Risk Management & Incident Response
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Cloud, SalesForce, and SQL
- Multi-Unit experience preferred
- Start-up experience preferred
- Security Certification preferred (CISSP or CISM)
