Full Time Position: 40 hours per week
Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000 depending on experience and education

Leisure World of Maryland Corporation (LWMC) located in Silver Spring Maryland, is an organization managing 29 community associations representing over 5,600 homes and extensive Trust operations. LWMC is seeking an innovative, experienced and hands-on professional to sever the role of VP-Property management reporting directly to the General Manager,
The VP, Property Management is responsible for overseeing and directing the operations of property management across the organization to include high rises and mutual services. Will ensure alignment with strategic objectives, compliance with legal regulations, and the delivery of high-quality services to residents and stakeholders
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES:
- Directly supervise the property management team, including property managers, whose chain of command includes building engineers, and support staff. Responsibilities include hiring, training, performance evaluation, and corrective action as necessary.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for property management, including maintenance, financial oversight, and customer service.
- Review budgeting, financial planning, and reserve fund management for all properties, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as organizational policies, providing training and updates to the property management team as needed.
- Act as a liaison between the organization, residents, and Mutual Boards, fostering effective communication and resolving conflicts in a professional manner.
- Lead initiatives to enhance resident satisfaction, operational efficiency, and staff performance through continuous improvement strategies and professional development programs.
- Provide support for major property projects, including maintenance, renovations, and capital improvements, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate property management performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to improve service delivery.
- Represent the organization in professional settings, including industry conferences, community meetings, and stakeholder presentations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated issues, providing resolution strategies and maintaining positive relationships with residents and stakeholders.
SUPERVISORY RESPONIBILITY
- The VP, Property Management will be responsible for supervising and evaluating LWMC property management teams composed of property managers, building engineers and support staff charged with the responsibility for management of all high rise Mutuals and/or Mutual Assistants for the non-high rise Mutuals.
- Provide the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all Mutual assigned staff. Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with LWMC and Mutual policies and procedures and applicable regulations and laws.
- Interview, select, train, and coach employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems in coordination with LWMC policies and procedures. Establish employee objectives to improve performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Property Management, or a related field (Master'sdegree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in property management or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Regional or portfolio property management experience preferred.
- Certifications such as PCAM or ARM preferred.
- Demonstrable expertise in property management, financial oversight, and team leadership.
- Experience with property management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven experience handling politically sensitive issues as well as resident complaints.
