VP Legal, Privacy Counsel - Larson Maddox

Our client, a leading global franchisor of boutique health and wellness brands, is seeking to add a VP Legal, Privacy Counsel to their team. This role will involve overseeing privacy, product, and consumer protection legal matters across a diverse portfolio of brands. This candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, reporting into the Chief Legal Officer allowing full visibility into the company's operations and clear path for career growth and advancement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert on privacy and consumer protection laws, including data security, data governance, TCPA, autorenewal, and ADA issues.
• Coordinate with internal clients to identify legal issues and mitigate risk through a commercial approach.
• Manage a data governance program and oversee related projects, including data mapping.
• Draft, negotiate, and maintain technology and privacy agreements, and ensure compliance with privacy policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor Degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar, with eligibility for California in-house registration.
• Minimum of four years of experience advising on privacy and consumer protection matters in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Strong judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively
