GENERAL SUMMARY
The Utility Worker performs a variety of tasks to support food preparation, service, and sanitation. This position is responsible for trash removal, cleaning and sanitation, dish washing of all dishes, pots, pans, utensils and more.; This position properly receive, store, and maintain all stock using proper storage practices. Reports to department leadership.
.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Throughout scheduled shift checks with Cook for items that needed to be pulled and for assistance with special needs or problems that may occur.
- Sets up pot-washing area, sorts, scrubs and disinfects, and stores all dishes utilizing prescribed infection control procedures as necessary.
- Assists with cooking when necessary.
- Receives and restocks supplies ready for usage to guarantee smooth operations.
- Continuous clean up, maintenance and sanitation of food service stations, dining areas and work areas as directed throughout the shift.
- Handles waste disposal and maintains garbage cans.
- At shift’s end performs proper cleanup, restocking, and assists dish room as necessary.
- Practices good personal hygiene, grooming standards and always follow uniform policy.
- Ensures compliance with departmental procedures, federal, state, local regulations while performing all duties and responsibilities
- Ensures adherence to company policy, standards of operation, safety and sanitation guidelines and employee handbook.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Required Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- At time of hire, a record of completion for all education, licenses, training and/or certifications is required.
- Experience in operating commercial equipment required.
- Preferred Education and Experience
- One year of housekeeping experience preferred.
- Health care work experience preferred.
- Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures and practices.
- Excellent time management skills to complete work in a timely manner, able to shift priorities, able to work independently, able to work in a team setting and problem solve in a fast paced, fluid environment.
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Demonstrates ability work to effectively within role, department, and organization.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic team player who takes initiative.
- Possesses strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills as well as, the ability to interact and communicate effectively with diverse individuals, team members, various levels of management, internal and external customers.
- Increased Security Clearance Required for Job Role in Children’s Pavilion: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.
