The City of Coronado Public Services and Engineering Department is seeking a full-time, non-exempt, Utility Systems Operator. This position may be filled at either Utility Systems Operator I or a Utility Systems Operator II level. Under general supervision, to perform a variety of semi-skilled work in the sewer and storm systems; operate a variety of maintenance and repair tools and equipment; perform a variety of maintenance tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility; and provide customer service to City staff, consultants, contractors, and the public.
The Department:
The Department of Public Services and Engineering is responsible for maintaining the City’s physical infrastructure and maintenance for the City’s beaches, facilities, parks, sanitary sewer, storm drain systems, and rights of way while protecting the public’s health and safety. The department also provides engineering management, including planning, design, construction, and repair of the City’s buildings, parks, streets, and utility systems in addition to management of a wide range of services and programs.
